Motorola launched two new mods in CES 2018 – the Livermorium Slider Keyboard Mod which adds a full physical QWERTY keyboard to any Moto Z smartphone and the Lenovo Vital Mod which tracks your heart rate, body temperature, blood pressure and more.
The Livermorium Slider Keyboard Mod is a grand prize winner of the first Transform the Smartphone Challenge with Indiegogo, the Livermorium Keyboard Moto Mod gives you a full QWERTY slider keyboard and a screen that can tilt up to 60 degrees. Both the mods are compatible with Motorola’s Z series of devices, they simply snap onto the back of any Moto Z smartphone and add new functionality.
With the recent launch of three new Moto Mods in India – TurboPower Pack Mod, JBL Soundboost 2 and GamePad mod we are expecting more mods to come in Indian market at reasonable price.
Last year company has collaborated with Indiegogo, the global platform for entrepreneurs to bring their ideas from concept to market, on the Transform the Smartphone Challenge. Motorola received hundreds of written submissions and worked closely with a group of developers on their prototypes.
The Vital Moto Mod will arrive in April for $395 and the Slider Keyboard will show up this winter for $99. Vital mod costs almost as much as a brand new Moto Z2 Play and is capable of tracking five ‘vital’ health metrics – heart rate, diastolic blood pressure, Pulse Ox, body temperature and respiratory rate. The Lenovo Vital Moto Mod is set to go on sale in the U.S. in April. It is not known at the moment when (or whether) any of the two new Mods will launch in India.
