Twitter announced Twitter lite, a new mobile web experience which minimizes data usage, loads quickly on slower connections, is resilient on unreliable mobile networks. We also optimized it for speed, with up to 30% faster launch times as well as quicker navigation throughout Twitter. Twitter also added a data saver mode which reduces data usage up to 70 per cent with data saver mode turned on, and takes up to less than 1MB on mobile devices.
Twitter Lite provides the key features of Twitter—your timeline, Tweets, Direct Messages, trends, profiles, media uploads, notifications, and more. With Twitter Lite, Twitter is more accessible to millions of people—all we need is a smartphone or tablet with a browser.
Twitter Lite interface supported total 42 language including six Indian languages Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, and Kannada, It will also provide off line support i.e. even if you are offline you will be able to see earlier tweets.
Twitter Lite will also provide Vodafone customers a customised timeline of top cricket-related Tweets available throughout the T20 season.
“Twitter Lite looks at emerging markets. The three main pillars on which it resides, which are network conditions, the kind of device being used and how affordable this access is to a user.
