Lenovo has launched the Moto Z2 Play with a starting price $499 and it will go on sale this summer. Moto Z2 Play has a unibody metal design and sleeker as compared to its predecessor. The smartphone have round edges and a home button with fingerprint scanner underneath. It will be available in Lunar Grey and Fine Gold colour options.
Moto Z2 Play specifications
The Moto Z2 Play features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a pixel density of 401ppi. It is powered by a 2.2GHz Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The smartphone comes in two variant, 3GB RAM/32GB storage and 4GB RAM/64GB storage with microSD card support for further expansion of storage (up to 2TB).
In terms of optics, the Moto Z2 Play has a 12MP rear camera with laser and dual auto-focus, as well as LED flash. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with a dual-LED CCT flash. The smartphone is backed by 3000mAh battery which is smaller as compared to its predecessor Moto Z Play and supports Turbo charging which provides 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes, and the battery is rated to deliver up to 30 hours of mixed usage.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/g/b/n (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C (3.1), a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, FM radio, and GPS/ A-GPS. Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. It weighs 145 grams, and measures 156.2×76.2×5.99mm.
New Moto Mods
Motorola also introduce some Moto Mods as well. It includes Moto Power Pack, which brings additional 2200mAh battery. It comes in Black and White colour options and claims to offer 16 hours of battery backup. It is priced at $49.99.
The Turbo Power Pack Moto Mod, which brings an additional 3,490mAh battery capacity to the smartphone. It supports 30W TurboPower and can charge up to 50% in 20 minutes and it is priced at $79.99.
In addition, Motorola has launched a Wireless Charging Style Shell at $39.99. There is also an upgraded JBL SoundBoost 2 Moto Mod, priced at $79.99. It comes with a kickstand and is splash proof and come in black, red, and blue colour variants.
And finally, there is Moto GamePad mod. The device allows users to transform their Moto Z2 Play into a handheld gaming console with a simple snap. Using dual control sticks, D-pad and four action buttons for a true gaming experience, it comes with a 1000mAh built-in battery that can power the GamePad for up to 8 hours. It is priced at a $79.99.
