Nokia 8 and Nokia 5 received a Major price cut in India

February brings a major downfall in the prices of two of the most known smart gadgets of Nokia.  Yes,  Nokia 5 and Nokia 8 observes a major set back in their prices in India as they are now permanently fixed to a lesser amount than the previous one.  While the Nokia 5 3GB RAM variant, which was launched in the country in last November at Rs. 13,499 as an upgrade over the original Nokia 5 2GB variant, is now available at Rs. 12,499, the Nokia 8 that was debuted at Rs. 36,999 in last October now comes with a price tag of Rs. 28,999.

A smart mid-range gadget offered by HMD Global features a beautiful full metal unibody design. The dual-SIM (Nano) Nokia 5 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat and is upgradable to Android Oreo. The smartphone features a 5.2-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS LCD panel with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Further, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, coupled with 3GB of RAM. The new phone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF lens and dual-tone flash.  It has an 8-megapixel autofocus camera sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, 84-degree field-of-view lens on its front. Also, a 16GB internal storage that is expandable via micro SD card (up to 128GB). Nokia 5 has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB with OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. An accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor are some of the specifications, this gadget observes.  The smartphone packs a 3000mAh battery as well.

The company’s flagship offering has been made in aluminium and comes with a fingerprint scanner on its front.Originally, the phone comes with Android 7.1 Nougat but was updated to Android 8.0 Oreo recently. It has a 5.3-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. An IP54-rated build smartphone it is that is also splash-resistant and is accompanied by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. It is paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Nokia 8 sports a 13-megapixel camera sensor onits front with an f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 78.4-degree wide-angle lens.These cameras come with Carl Zeiss optics.  A ‘bothie’ feature that allows users to capture photos or videos using the front and rear camera setups simultaneously is an added advantage.

Observing a storage capacity of 64GB that is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration, this phone has several connectivity options that include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (v3.1), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Some more specifications of Nokia 8 include some on board sensors,  an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. It also has a 3090mAh battery.
