One Plus 5T launched at a price same as One Plus 5 with few improvements

OnePlus 5T is official now. One Plus announced its premium flagship device OnePlus in Newyork. It is a better version of One Plus 5 launched in two variants 6GB/64GB and 8GB/128GB storage variant at a price of Rs. 32,999 & Rs. 37,999 same as its predecessor respectively. One Plus 5T is offering bezel-less design with an aspect ratio of 18:9 display and enhanced low-light camera performance. It will be exclusively available on Amazon and One Plus online stores in India from Nov 21st. OnePlus 5T users will be eligible for a complimentary 12-month Accidental Damage Insurance by Servify on downloading the Kotak 811 savings account and activating it with an initial deposit of Rs 1,000 in the introductory period. Also, OnePlus 5T customers will get 1008 GB of data from Idea. Additionally, HDFCBank debit and credit cards users are eligible for a Rs 1,500 instant discount on purchase of OnePlus 5T through till 2nd December 2017. The OnePlus 5T customers are also elegible for 1 year of free membership of Zomato Gold- the newly launched premium subscription offering from Zomato.

Design and Display

The dual-SIM (Nano) OnePlus 5T features 6-inch Full Optic AMOLED Display protected by 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection with an 18:9 aspect ratio while keeping the same body size as One Plus 5. The OnePlus 5T’s Full Optic AMOLED display features a new Sunlight Display that adapts automatically to harsh light to facilitate a great viewing experience. Users can also calibrate their screens based on their viewing preferences across four different modes, including default, sRGB, DCI-P3 and adaptive. OnePlus 5T do not feature their famous fast ceramic fingerprint sensor on the front which unlocks the device in under 0.2 seconds, they moved it to the back of the device.

Dual Camera with Enhanced Low-light Performance

The OnePlus 5T comes with key improvements that enhance camera performance in low-light. It features the same primary camera of 16MP Sony IMX398 sensor with an aperture of f/1.7 same as that of the OnePlus 5 but the secondry camera is bit improved than its predecessor One Plus 5 and replaced by 20 MP Sony IMX376K sensor with a large f/1.7 aperture for superior low light photography. It is accompanied by dual-LED flash and can record upto 4K video at 30fps, apart from 1080p video at 60fps. In addition, One Plus 5T also features  Portrait Mode to improve noise reduction. With Intelligent Pixel Technology – first implemented on the OnePlus 3T’s front camera – the OnePlus 5T’s secondary camera merges four pixels into one, reducing noise in low-light environments and enhancing clarity.

On the front One Plus 5T sports the same camera of 16 MP Sony IMX371 sensor with an aperture of f/2.0 as used in One Plus 5 and it allows the user to record 1080p videos at 30fps.

Android Refined – OxygenOS

The OnePlus 5T runs Oxygen OS 4.7 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 835 SoC. One Plus also comes with a new feature called Face Unlock, which allows OnePlus users to unlock their phone just by looking at their device. One of the fastest on the Android market, Face Unlock uses over 100 identifiers to unlock the OnePlus 5T. It is fuelled by 3300mAh non-removable battery same as OnePlus 5 supports Dash Charging fast charging technology. It weigh 162 grams and measures 156.1x75x7.3mm i.e. a little more than One Plus 5 that weighs 153 grams and measured 154.2×74.1×7.25mm. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band (2.4GHz, 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11ac with MIMO 2×2, Bluetooth v5.0 with aptX and aptX HD, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C (v2.0) port.
