Here are a few predictable disappointments to know about the phone before one finally decides to own it.

Apple claims that its new flagship device is water resistant. However there is no warranty covered for its liquid damage. Also, the news that its jet black variants are more prone to scratches has come into notice. Both iPhones were tested under controlled laboratory conditions with a rating of IP67 under IEC standard 60529 affirming that the devices are water and dust resistant. But  no warranty coverage if it is damaged because of water. Indeed this is like a bitter pill to be swallowed. To justify, Apple has provided us with certain guidelines” Do not attempt to charge a wet iPhone; refer to the user guide for cleaning and drying instructions,” adds the company.  Using a protective case will also safeguard the device.

The iPhone 7 now comes in a glossy jet black finish, along with a softer black, gold, silver and rose gold.
